Masjid Construction
The proposed construction of this project consist of an approximately 2,700 square foot addition to the existing Mountlake Terrace Mosque building and associated parking and driveways. The Mosque building will be expanded to the north by 28 feet and 23 feet to the west. The new expansion will add two floors to the building. The architect for this project is Mamoun Sakkal. The internationally known architect and caliligraphor. Check out some of his work.
Lower Floor:
The new addition will result removing the old bathrooms and kitchen to provide a larger prayer haul for sisters. Also the new addition will include a larger women bathroom and shower, classrooms, guest /study room, a new large kitchen, washer room for funeral services, one internal and two external stairs, wheel chairs ramps, storage room, and small janitor and mechanical rooms.
Upper Floor:
The new addition will add a lobby on the west side of the building at the new main entrance for the main brothers prayer haul. The Minaret and the Dom will be supported at the roof of the lobby. Also the new addition will include a large bathroom and shower (for men only), internal stairs, and an extended prayer haul area that exceeds the current existing prayer haul area for brothers.
This project will be accomplished in 3 phases.
